As we humans have become more advanced, we have filled more of our universe with electric lighting; and future generations of humans will have to pay the price. Instead of seeing the vast body of stars that humanity’s brightest minds have mapped over the centuries, they will more likely be privy to the disgusting, yellowish tinge of skyglow we see today in large amounts produced by modern industry. This piece has utility in classrooms covering either science or history.
